Life in the gardening club

In the George Syme gardening club we found worms and a big, huge, vicious beatle and snails in the ground.
We did lots of weeding and we checked on our strawberries and one pot had one strawberry.  One strawberry was half eaten by an animal but we think it was ants.We enjoyed it because we worked hard in the gardening club.

Strawberries & Weeding

We were weeding in the main garden.   We also collected lily bulbs.

Ms. Conner taught the children how to plant the strawberries in the pots.

Planting Rose Bushes

We used shovels to dig the rose bush.  We moved the rose bush because we are going to plant vegetables.  We used hen poop to help the roots grow strong.  We put compost in the hole too.  We made a pyramid out of the compost and put hen poop at the bottom of the hole.  Next we put the rose bush on the pyramid and then we put compost and soil in the hole.  Then we watered the rose bush.  The flower now is growing; we see the little leaves and flower buds.

First Club Meeting

Today we brainstormed ideas of fruits and vegetables we could plant.  Our top choice was strawberries!
